Terms of Service

Last updated November 6, 2026

These terms apply to the SecureQuest VS Code extension, SecureQuest Pro, and this website at securequest.dev. They're provided by SecureQuest, based in Saskatchewan, Canada. By installing, buying, or using SecureQuest, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use it.

Using SecureQuest

You may install and use SecureQuest for personal or commercial software work. You keep all rights to your code. You may not resell or redistribute SecureQuest, share your Pro license key, or try to bypass its license checks or free tier limits.

Free tier

The free tier includes 5 security rules and up to 5 new suggestions a day. When the daily limit is reached, SecureQuest shows how many more issues it found in the file but not their details. Unseen issues may remain in your code until you view them on a later day or with Pro.

SecureQuest Pro

  • Pro is a recurring subscription, sold and billed through Gumroad. Gumroad's terms also apply to your purchase.
  • The price is shown at checkout. Your subscription renews until you cancel.
  • You can cancel from your Gumroad receipt or library. Cancelling stops future renewals, and Pro stays active through the end date Gumroad reports.
  • Pro stops working if your subscription ends, a payment fails, or your purchase is refunded or charged back.
  • Refunds: to ask for a refund, email support@securequest.dev within 7 days of the charge, whether it's your first payment or a renewal. Include the email address you used on Gumroad. Refunds are paid through Gumroad to your original payment method, and Pro stops working once the refund goes through. We can't refund charges after 7 days, except where the law requires it.

AI features

AI explanations and rewrites use a language model provider you've set up in VS Code, such as GitHub Copilot. That provider's terms apply, and any access it requires is your responsibility. AI output can be wrong or insecure, so review it before you use it.

No guarantee of security

SecureQuest uses pattern-based checks. It can miss real vulnerabilities and flag safe code. A clean result doesn't mean your software is secure, and SecureQuest doesn't replace a security review or professional advice. You're responsible for the code you ship.

Download counts

We count how many times the extension is downloaded from this website. The count holds only the date and the number, and doesn't identify you. The extension itself has no analytics or tracking. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Warranty and liability

SecureQuest is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost profits, lost data, or security incidents. Our total liability is limited to what you paid for SecureQuest in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you, and your mandatory consumer rights aren't affected.

Changes and ending use

We may change or discontinue features, or update these terms. We'll change the date at the top when we do, and using SecureQuest after that means you accept the update. We may end access if you break these terms. You can stop at any time by uninstalling the extension and cancelling any subscription.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Saskatchewan and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be heard by the courts of Saskatchewan. If you're a consumer, you keep any rights the consumer protection laws where you live give you.
